Baby It's Chilly Outside

I love Quince. He is such a doll and is almost always the sweetest thing ever!! Truly. He uses some of the quirkiest and strangest words sometimes. Like words you'd hear senior citizens say- outdated words. It always makes me smile. For example, this morning while getting ready for preschool I put his coat on him. As I'm putting it on he turns to me and says, "Do I need to wear a coat? Is it chilly outside?" I laughed as I realized he never uses the word cold, he says chilly. He has always had an extensive vocabulary- but the more I think about it- the more I realize he uses words my parents would use. I love it and I hope it sticks.

Give it to Me Like This

As long as it's going to be this cold- could I make a request? Seriously- there isn't any sense in freezing unless you get to enjoy the white stuff with it.

One of a Few

So, on our second attempt at family photos, we got maybe 3 pictures that I actually like. And this is probably my favorite one. Should family pictures be this difficult? Really?

Moab

During November we took a trip to Moab. I have to be honest, I was NOT looking forward to going. Neither was Will, or our kids for that matter. We had driven through Moab just weeks before going to Durango- and we realized what a total dot on a map it was. We weren't looking forward to driving to and staying there. But we tried to be optimistic and went with the best attitudes we could muster up. I think the boys had fun, but they don't like to admit it. We had a good time with Dave and Dana's family. I still feel like Moab isn't my cup of tea- but we did the hikes- and other than Delicate Arches, which we hiked in the dark, with the babies, and it was steep- I enjoyed most of it.
Oh yeah- don't you just love Preston on the top of the rock, trying to get cell service so he could call his friends. Yep. Teenagers. Love em.

Keeping with the Tour

The same day I took pictures of the office, I took some photos of the baby's room because Misty had asked how the tree had turned out. This is their, still unfinished, room. I have everything to make the curtains, but have just been dragging my feet. I also still need to paint the one tall shelf- but it was a beast to paint- so I've been putting it off. Ah- procrastination. Anyway- I have to give credit where credit is due. Amy painted the tree. It took her a good part of two days- but only because she is a perfectionist. :) I was constantly saying it looked fine, and she'd want it to look better. I do think it turned out really fun though. Now if I could just force myself to pull out the sewing machine.

The Office

Awhile back, Abby asked about the color of our office. I took a picture- although I'm not sure the color looks exactly right. It's kind of an olive brown, but more brown. (Same color that Amy used in her guest room.) As I took the pictures of our office, I noticed something Will had on his shelf that I thought was funny.

view of Will's desk area.
A closer view of his shelf. That's Dwight. Will's boss gave that to him when he worked at Dex. Perhaps something about Will reminded her of Mr. Schrute. :)

Arizona Thanksgiving

Will spent half of his day doing this.

My boys spent the majority of their trip doing this. Very manly play.

I always have a hard time getting back into the swing of things when I return home from vacation. I'm really bad about it. We had a nice, wet Thanksgiving. Now the focus is on enjoying the season before it's over. It happens FAR too quickly for me. So much to do, and so little time. I wanted to post some good pictures showing our Thanksgiving experience, but apparently I only took goofy ones. As usual.
